Vinnie's Meatloaf
Meatloaf
2½ lbs lean hamburg 1 large onion 1 large green pepper
1 egg Italian bread crumbs grated Parmesan cheese
Worcestershire sauce ketchup ground ginger
oregano black pepper garlic powder
Finely chop up the onion and green pepper.
Mixture: mix Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, ground ginger, oregano, black pepper
and garlic powder. This amount prepared will depend upon the amount of hamburg being
used in the recipe. All of these spices should be able to be tasted. Be generous
(about 3/4 to 1 cup total). The final color should be a dark red. Add 1 egg and
mix well.
In a large bowl put the hamburg, the desired amount of bread crumbs, grated cheese,
chopped onion and green pepper. Mix well. Add the mixture. Mix well.
Place the meatlaof in a baking pan. Form the meatloaf into a square or rectangle
about 2½ inches thick. Put the pan into the oven and set the temperature to 350* F.
Bake for approximately 1 hour. Check meatloaf at about 45 minutes. Do not overbake.
